I am researching the Trulocks. I believe the Henry Trulock who married Constant Rumsey, and who died in Calvert Co., MD, in Apr 1677, was id/w one Henry Trulocke, c. 27 Dec 1640 in London, St. Giles, Cripplegate (he had brothers Thomas, c 21 July 1639) and Joseph (c 17 June 1646). Their father was Joseph Trulocke, a tailor (c 18 Feb 1615 at St. Giles), who had an older sister Jone (or Jane) (c 13 Feb 1608 at St. Giles); and probably an older brother, Thomas, who m a Joane Baldwin on 9 Nov 1628 at London, St. Gregory by St. Paul. THEIR father was Thomas Trulocke, a weaver, who must have come to London from elsewhere and was probably born abt 1580. We note that the most Trulocks are found in Sutton town, Courtenay Parish, Berkshire (on the outskirts of London). Thomas the weaver is probably id/w Thomas Trulocke, c 12 Feb 1582 in that town and parish. Another Thomas Trulocke, possibly HIS father, was christened in Sutton on 7 May 1557 (all this is from IGI). The town of Sutton, in Berkshire, is probably the source of the given name "Sutton" that appears among the American Trulocks. They were remembering their roots. My first wife's mother was a Trulock from GA, which explains my interest. Does anyone have information to confirm, deny, or add to my data? Donal Buchanan

They had five children: Frank, born 1871 at Bucks, married Sarah Ellen LAWRENCE Sept. 24, 1898; John, born about 1873 at Wakes, Colne, Essex; Elizabeth (WHITESIDE), born about 1875 at Slough, Bucks. They had a son (at least) whose ashes were buried in Clewer, Berks in 1985; Rose, born about 1878 at Clewer, Berks, married a Jack PRIOR. They had 2 sons and 7 daughters = one of these children, Phyllis PRIOR, married a man called KELSEY and had 2 sons, David & Fred KELSEY. My wife and I spent two weeks in Reading ten years ago and thorougly enjoyed our time there. My interest in Berkshire now is that my great grandfather, Edward Blake, married in Edinburgh in 1863. In the marriage entry he claimed to have been living in Lwockham, Berkshire just prior to the marriage. I have been unable to locate anything in Berkshire that comes anywhere near that spelling. I thought it might be a shortened version of L. Wockingham or Lower Wockingham. Does anyone have some other ideas that might fit. Edward moved around a bit as he seems to have been born in Lincolnshire, moved to Berkshire, thence to Edinburgh, followed by Faversham, Kent and finally Hoxton in East London. I'd appreciate any suggestions or ideas. Bill
