Hi Georgia,

I haven't been able to find anything immediately in our current records.

The nearest possible match I have is Joseph Frewin, recorded as the father of Albert Edward Frewin when Albert Edward married Emma Bannister in Newnham Murren, Oxfordshire on 11 October 1862. This would make Joseph Frewin's birth date circa 1830 - 1842, but it would be very unlikely he would have been in the USA in 1860 if he was in the UK in 1862.

As you have a possible place of birth for Joseph, it may be worth contacting the Kent Family History Society to see if they have any further information. Their website is at http://www.canterhill.co.uk/kfhs/index.htm

There is a webpage mentioning Joseph Frain at: http://www.fortunecity.com/millenium/savannah/252/sinex/dat101.htm and other Frain info at: http://pages.prodigy.net/jfrain/fraibird.html

Please do keep us in touch with any developments, records of Fruins in Kent are pretty rare.

Regards

Lawrence Frewin
