Does anyone know how I might make sure of a connection between the James Frewing who married Elizabeth Griffiths on Nov. 4,1807 in Wooburn, Buckinghamshire and a John Frewing in Burghfield, Berkshire who had a son James Christened April 30, 1780.
We believe that James, the son of John was the James who married Elizabeth and we have a definite connection with that James on down but seek to establish a firmer connection to the generation before him. We have noted that John used both Frewing and Frewen in registering his children in the local church in Burghfield.
Is it perhaps unlikely that a Frewing born in Burghfield Berkshire would wind up marrying a lady in Wooburn Buckinghamshire? I am not too familiar with the landscape over there and the amount of travel people did in the early 1800s.
James first son John was a carpenter so James was likely one himself. The fact that he called his first son John helps us believe his father's name may have been John.
