Hello Jean,

I have had another look at this this morning, and it seems we may be confusing the Albert Frewins as well as the fathers.

These are the 1881 census Albert Frewins from Middx, 3 in total, 2 from the same family:

ALBERT 1:

Dwelling: 83A Aldenham Street
Census Place: St Pancras, London, Middlesex, England
PRO Ref RG11 Piece 0201 Folio 43 Page 23

Harry FREWIN aged 29, b. Berkshire, England, Occ: Cab Driver
Elizabeth FREWIN, aged 25 b. St Pancras, Middlesex, England Rel: Wife
Albert FREWIN, aged 5, b. St Pancras, Middlesex, England, Rel: Son
Ada FREWIN, aged 3, b.St Pancras, Middlesex, England, Rel: Dau
Arthur FREWIN, aged 1, b. St Pancras, Middlesex, England, Rel: Son

ALBERT 2: (Two Alberts here)

Dwelling: 14 East St
Census Place: St Marylebone, London, Middlesex, England
PRO Ref RG11 Piece 0141 Folio 122 Page 59

Albert S. FREWIN, aged 41, b. Oxford, England Rel: Head Occ: Coachman
Isabella FREWIN, aged 36, Buckingham, England, Rel: Wife
Lizzie FREWIN, aged 14 b. London, Middlesex, Rel: Daur, Occ: Dressmaker
Albert FREWIN, aged 10, b, London, Middlesex, Rel: Son, Occ: Scholar
Harriet FREWIN, aged 7, b. London, Middlesex, Rel: Daur, Occ: Scholar
Alice FREWIN, aged 4, b. London, Middlesex, Rel: Daur, Occ: Scholar
Edith FREWIN, aged 2, b. London, Middlesex, Rel: Daur Occ: Scholar

------------------------------------------

and these are the 1901 Alberts from Middx:

Name Age Where Born Administrative County Civil Parish Occupation
Albert Frewin 8M London Chelsea London Paddington
Albert Frewin 4 Kent Burham Kent Burham Entire
Albert Frewin 12 Shadwell E London London Shadwell
Albert Frewin 13 Middx Wood Green Middlesex Wood Green
Albert Frewin 15 Worcs Oldbury Worcester Warley Cartakers Hand Boy
Albert Frewin 19 Stoke Row Oxon Oxford Ipsden Faggot Maker
Albert Frewin 23 B: Henley, Lodging at 18 Tavistock Cres, Westbourne, Paddington. Occ: Carpenter
Albert Frewin 25 B: St Pancras, Res: Havelock St, Islington, Occ: Livery Stable Coachman
Albert Frewin 34 Kent Burham Kent Burham Entire Cement Worker

-----------------------------------------

The Albert Frewin aged 25 from 1901 is married to Cecilia, living in Havelock Street, Pancras. The children are Cecilia and Elizabeth. This is definitely your relative.

If your Albert isn't the same as the one born in Aldenham St, St Pancras to Harry in Pancras in the 1881 census, then he doesn't appear in the 1881 census at all by the look of it.

It looks like your Henry, his wife and son Albert are missing from the 1881 census, and that my Harry and his entire family are missing from the 1901 census.

We know that your Henry was in St Pancras by 1876 because your Albert was born there, but the only Henry Frewin in Middx for the 1881 census is this one:

Dwelling: 108 Tottenham Ct Rd
Census Place: St Pancras, London, Middlesex, England
PRO Ref RG11 Piece 0184 Folio 27 Page 47

Henry FREWIN, aged 15, b. Stratton, Cornwall, England, Occ: Drapers Apprentice

And that's not him.

More searching needed I think. This may be one that the 1891 census could sort out perhaps, or maybe your new docs will show something.

Lawrence
