Hello fellow researchers. I am seeking information on Joseph Fruen born about 1834 in England. I haven't a clue WHERE in England. The US census records only listed Eng. I do not have parents or siblings for Joseph. What I do have starts with 1861. The familysearch.org lists a marriage for Joseph Fruen and Cordelia Dickerson in Monroe Co AR. I found the hand-written entry for this marriage on microfilm at the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock AR.
In 1862, a J C Fruin enlisted in the Confederate Army at Clarendon, Monroe Co AR. I would surmise that this is Joseph. The time and place are correct.
The next time I find Joseph Fruin is the 1870 census for Monroe Co AR. He is listed with Cordelia and her three children from a previous marriage. (I also have the 1860 census with a widowed Cordelia and her three children).
In 1880, Joseph Fruen appears with Cordelia, one Dickerson child and his son, born abt 1872. This time they are in Yell Co AR.
After this, I do not find Joseph. His son is listed in Scott Co AR. His wife died in Scott Co AR in 1919. However, I have not found either Joseph or Cordelia on a census record since 1880.
My father spelled the name Fruen. This is my maiden name.
