: Hi, have just started to look at my ancestry and have already run into a problem.
My grandfather was Alfred James Fruin born Acton 1889 and his father was George E Fruin.

On the database here we have:
George Edwin Fruin
Born: 12 August 1855 Little Milton, Oxon 12
Wife Elizabeth
Occupation Railway Signalman
Children: Edith Fruin, Lillian Fruin and Alice M Fruin.

On the 1901 census we have:
George E Fruin
Born: 1855 Oxon Little Milton
Wife Eliza
Occupation Railway Signalman
Children: Alice M, Alfred J, Annie J, Jessie, George T

I might be wrong but I assume these are one and the same but with different children listed.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards Terry

Hello Terry,

I think the problem is that I have not finished transcribing the 1901 census for Fruins yet - I ran out of time.

The information we have will listed on our database will be from earlier records, perhaps the 1881 or 1891 census, but the source will be listed on the entry.

It is possible that by the time the children listed in the 1901 census came along the children we found had already grown up and left home. Leaving home at 14 to go into service or an apprenticeship was not uncommon.

If you have any updates for our database entry after checking the original data sources please do let me know.
