Colleen, please note that the Royal Dragoons are now part of the Household Cavalry and their museum is based at Combermere Barracks, Windsor Berkshire, England. Sadly I am at home but if you go to the website www.armymuseums.org.uk you will find some useful information in tracing military ancestors
The Royal Dragoon Guards were only formed in 1992 from 2 famous cavalry regiments the 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards and the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.
Another site may be a2a if you put this on your search engine there is a govenment archives site showing were documents are held in the uk family papers may have been lodge with the local records office.
Best of luck in your research

: I'm wondering if anyone could help me out....my great great grandfather, Frank Fruin, was a member of the Royal Dragoons (England). He was reportedly a squire. My grandfather tells he me he was situated where the current Oxford University is. Could anybody point me in the proper direction for finding out more information on Frank? He married a woman named Alice Turner. They had children, Frank Jr. born 1903, Richard born 1906 (my great grandfather), Jack and Ethel. Frank, Frank Jr, Richard and Jack moved to Canada (sometime between 1906 and 1920). Alice either stayed in England or was deceased at the time. The daughter, Ethel stayed in England as well. I have no information on her.
Any help or traces to these individuals would be extremely helpful and very appreciated!
