: I recently received information that my Great Uncle had on my Fruin line. There were letters that he had received from people in Washington State,by the name of Bob and Thelma Smith .One letter has mention of John Fruin (1785) leavig Liverpool Eng. 5 June 1832 and arriving in New York 13 July 1832 aboard ship "Carrol of Carrolton".It lists names and birth dates as; John B. Fruin (1854)
had a father Joseph Fruin(1816)whose father was John Fruin (1785)whose father was Joseph(1744) whose father was John(1708).John was married to his cousin Catherine Fruin (1714).there is mention in the letter to a Lora Lee Harris, a Mable Cook(1880) from Tacoma.I have no idea who these people are except that Lora Lee Harris was listed as being a cousin.
There is Mention of Elizabeth Fruin also known as Libby who was born 1845 marrying a man by the last name of McFarland and moving to Canada and never being heard from again.Emma Fruin born 1848? whom died in Fall River,Mass. and her sister Ella who was in Oneida,New York that had a son by her first marraige by the name of Howard Beers and a daughter named Mary Hadley Moore.If any one should have any information about anything I have wrote please respond...Thank You .
I have just received a couple of new things in the mail from a family member. I have a note from a John S. Fruin born 1889 and in the 1950's living a 9 Jersey Avenue,Cheltenham,Glos.England.
This James decended from My Joseph born 1744 who had a son named Joseph b.1775( The dates of birth are a bit different from what I have But all the names are the same and the letter was directed to me family from James S.Fruin.Joseph b.1775 had the following children';
William . 1811
Joseph b. 1817 d.1904
Then Joseph born 1817 and Died 1904 had the following children ;
James b. 1849 d.1898
Caroline b.1853 d.1938
Mary b.1854 d.1940
Elisabeth b.1856 d.1932
William b.1859 d.1930
Ellen b.1861 d.145
Annie b. 1865 d.1948
Emma b.1867 d.1868
William born in 1859 had the following children ;
James of 1889 had the following children Raymond b.1919
It says that Raymond and John both had a son to date 2 years of age.It also says that the James 1849/1898 had two sons James the elder who changed his name by deed poll to Travers and Had a son Christened in that name.-Harold the younger married without issue.He died in Japanese Captivity inChina during the war of 1939/1943. If anyone has an information on this family branch I would welcome your input.I have no bride names,which makes it a bit harder to trace.
